Mosquito Chips are small larvicide-treated discs designed to be placed into stagnant or standing water where mosquitoes breed. Once submerged, each chip slowly releases a micro-dose of active ingredient that prevents mosquito larvae from developing into biting adults. According to datasheet information, one chip can treat up to 20 L (5 gallons) of water and delivers effective control for around 90 days (3 months).
By focusing on the larval stage, these chips help reduce adult mosquito populations and limit mosquito-borne nuisances and risks in your outdoor space.

Install Mosquito Chips in any container or area that holds water and may serve as a mosquito breeding site, such as: bird-baths, gutters, rain barrels, unused buckets, plant pot saucers, tree-hole accumulations, neglected tubs, and so on.
Since the chips treat the standing water rather than repel flying adults, placing them at known breeding points is critical for effective control. They’re especially useful in shaded or sheltered water accumulations typical around homes or patios.

Yes. The product specifications indicate that the larvicide is embedded in the chip and released at very low concentrations in the water, which helps minimise risk to pets, birds, fish, wildlife and non-target insects.
However, while the risks are significantly reduced compared to many direct adult-mosquito treatments, you should still follow the manufacturer’s instructions, keep the chips out of reach of children and pets, and avoid placing them where drinking water for animals may accumulate unless specifically indicated safe.

Each Mosquito Chip provides continuous larval-control protection for approximately 90 days (3 months) under normal conditions.
After that period you should replace the chip if water continues to accumulate in that location. Also, if the water container is emptied and refilled, or if new stagnant water accumulates, you may need to install fresh chips to maintain protection.

Typically, one chip treats up to 20 litres (approx. 5 US gallons) of standing water.
For larger volumes of water or larger containers, you’ll need multiple chips accordingly. It’s important to size the treatment to container volume so that the larvicide concentration remains effective. Also, ensure the chip is fully submerged or placed such that it remains in contact with the water for activation.
